Why Mahsa Movement Failed

In one month, it will be the anniversary of the Mahsa movement, which started with the assassination of martyr Mahsa Amini two years ago and failed after a while! From the viewpoint of this writer, the reason for the success of the unexpected rise of that movement and the reason for its failure were the same! In fact, reason for both was the support of ethnic groups in Kurdistan for that movement, while that movement itself was a nationwide movement that reflected the personality of Mahsa and her family which in fact was and is the wish of the majority of Iranians, including the residents of Kurdistan and Baluchistan and the Arab-population of Khuzestan, the inhabitants of Turkmen Sahara, and similar places in Iran, and until the end, long after Mahsa's death, the Mahsa family held the flag of national unity of all Iranians high, with great perseverance! I have discussed the issue of extremist nationalism in Iran, both tribalist and centralist, for years and I do not want to repeat it here.

From the point of view of this writer, now is the time to organize a meeting abroad of Ms. Nazanin Boniadi, Dr. Laden Boroumand, Mr. Abdullah Mohtadi, Ms. Masih Alinjad, Mihanbaan Reza Pahlavi and Dr. Esmail Nooriala, and to plan the preparation of seminars abroad, but, along with direct satellite and Internet communication inside Iran, with different political personalities of Iran (opposition and position), to talk about the continuation of the prodemocracy movement inside and outside Iran. In the past, during the last years of the Soviet regime, the Beyond War organization, headquartered in Palo Alto, California, used a similar initiative that was very successful.

Personally, I have not contacted any of the friends whose names I mentioned in this note about this proposal, and in fact, considering my medical condition, I cannot have a role in these works, and from these friends, because of this proposal in public level without consulting them, I apologize and hope that they will be successful in their activities for the freedom, justice and pride of Iran!

In the end, let me emphasize that in the above lines, when I wrote "invitation of various figures of the opposition and position to the seminars to be held with satellite and Internet communication," I mean that if, for example, figures such as Mr. Hossein Ronaghi Nelson Mandela of Iran and Mr. Majid Tavakoli, from the opposition inside Iran, are invited, at the same time, the personalities of the position in the country, such as Mr. Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf and Mr. Alireza Zakani, be also invited! Of course, I cannot predict that the mentioned personalities will accept the invitation and I only mentioned them as an example. Best wishes to all.
