Reza Pahlavi, you Must Officially Apologize to Iranian People for
شاهزاده رضا پهلوی، شما باید رسماً برای خدعه امروز از مردم ایران عذرخواهی کنید
Postscript in Persian one hour later
Prince Reza Pahlavi:
An hour ago, on your official Facebook page, you have written "my recent interview with Jon Gambrell in the Dubai office of Associated Press" (1), and have included a link to a short portion of your interview with this AP reporter published on April 8, 2017. The link is also noted in footnote 3 below. The reporter quotes you in this interview saying that you are calling "for replacing clerical rule with a parliamentary monarchy" (2), but to this moment he has not published your full interview and has only posted a short clip of it where you have not said such words (3).
Six days ago, I announced my readiness to work together with you in promoting secularism for Iran, which I have been doing for years (4), and four days ago I criticized extremists within Iran's National Front and defended you quoting that you had clearly said that you are not after bringing back the monarchy to Iran-- which you had said clearly a few months ago (5), but today I am seeing the opposite in the press. I seriously doubt it that a reputable reporter of AP would distort your words especially when you have affirmatively placed a link to his English text in your Facebook page, therefore you surely know of the content of his report.
Once Iranian people were beguiled by the deception of Ayatollah Khomeini in the 1979 Revolution and are still paying with the torture and hardship endured under the Islamic Republic. Ayatollah Khomeini, after the revolution, acknowledged the deception but never apologized for it and only laughed at the naivete of the revolutionaries who had not recognized his deception. This time, you can be sure that the distressed Iranian people will not be deceived by your contradictory words, and from today, demand your official apology for this deception. Personally, me and my family, like millions of people who suffered all these years, say no to your deception, the same way I said and will say no to the Islamic Republic.
Hoping for a democratic and secular futurist republic in Iran,
Sam Ghandchi, Editor/Publisher
