Last week there were a few reports in NY Times about assassination of an Al-Qaeda leader in Tehran by Israeli operatives which was a surprise to many in the West, and later it was denied by Islamic Regime of Iran (IRI)! Despite the differences between IRI's Shiite version of Islam and Al-Qaeda following Sunni Islam, the fact remains that IRI has been the only lasting 'Islamist' regime in the world for 42 years, and 'Islamist' does not mean the same thing as 'Islamic,' when the latter just refers to a religion! During Soviet era, the world witnessed a similar phenomena, when Soviet Union was a lasting Communist State for over 70 years, which was different from socialist or communist ideas entertained by many in the world as human ideals, a point emphasized 17 years ago by this author in an article entitled 'How to End Islamist Terrorism,' and it was the status of Soviet Union as a lasting 'Communist State' that for a revolutionary like Fidel Castro, Soviet Union became a political Mecca, although Fidel Castro at the time of Cuban revolution, was *not* a Communist!  Islamism is different from Islam as a religion and looking at various things noted in President Obama's new book which has just been published, I wonder if all Western leaders still know what the West is facing when dealing with Islamism, a serious phenomena in our present epoch which I have referred to as IslamicKKK, for quite some time!
