To President Trump: About IRGC and Iranian People

Dear President Trump, A year and a half ago, your support of Iran's December 2017 Uprising was welcomed by Iranian people (1). What did the US do next? Basically the US supported Prince Reza Pahlavi and this policy was again shown a month ago in Nowruz, and I criticized the Nowruz greetings in a note in Persian responding to Prince Reza Pahlavi (2). This week IRGC was added to the terrorist list. People in Iran have no love lost for IRGC but they are not risking their lives to support the US in the current conflict; and a major part of Iranian opposition even condemned this US move. Why? Personally, I support anything the US can do to stop IRGC state sponsors of terrorism everywhere including the Cyberspace (3) Then, why the Iranian people and a major part of Iranian opposition are not supporting the US move? Because they do not trust the US; and all this has nothing to do with the 1953 US Coup (4). US has been unable to build trust with Iranian people and opposition in the last 40 years, although the US was in a Cold War with IRI, and Iranian people were simultaneously in a hot war with the Islamic Regime ruling Iran.

Hoping for a democratic and secular futurist republic in Iran,
