P.S. 07/10/24: As I reminded more than a month ago in the note below, this writer is nonpartisan in US politics! Yesterday, President Biden delivered a speech on the 75th anniversary of NATO, a very important policy stand emphasizing positions of the Munich conference of February of last year, which was explained earlier in the discussion with Jeffrey Sachs about the importance of the issue for the whole world. We still don't know what the world will do with Mr. Putin, but Putin continues to suppress his opponents inside Russia on the one hand and the war in Ukraine, and certainly in this regard and many other issues, the result of US Presidential Election, which will be held soon, is very important. SG

First please note that as I have noted before: I am nonpartisan in US politics. Today a court in the NY issued a guilty verdict for former US President Donald Trump! I have written a lot about democacy in the past and there is not much I can add but I just wanted to say how the lesson from what we are witnessing today is that even after more than 250 years of the rule of democracy in the United States, it is not that easy, although it is a great ideal and experience!
