Sam Ghandchiسام قندچي US Still does not Understand Iranians

آمریکا هنوز ایرانیان را درک نمی کند

Yesterday I discussed Wall Street Journal's article about Radio Farda's Persian programming broadcast to Iran (1).  The reality is that United States government, 38 years after the Iranian Revolution of 1979, still does not understand Iranian people. Iranian people never liked Ayatollah Khomeini or Islamism; but Iranians dislike sycophants of foreign states, whether they serve UK, US or Russia. The problem of Radio Farda, VOA (2), etc is that they mainly hire obedient servants and mainly invite those guests who follow what the US orders them to do. And exactly this is why both hosts and guests have no credibility with Iranian people. US needs to seek Vaclav Havel's of Iran and not Ahmad Chalabi's whether hiring management staff (3) for Radio Farda and VOA Persian Language Programs or inviting guests, or when working with those in Iranian opposition. Otherwise Iranians will not trust the U.S., whether in its soft approach of TV programs, or hard approach of United Front against Islamic Republic in the Middle East. Plain and simple.

Hoping for a democratic and secular
futurist republic in Iran,
