I just watched the following video about Iran's political prisoners on the Persian YouTube channel of the US State Department that has been prepared by Samantha Power, United States Ambassador to the United Nations:

When a political party or individual is in power, the expectation from them is as a government and not as an activist. Now is it true to say the US State Department did not forget about Iran's political prisoners during John Kerry's tenure?
In the last four years basically Mr. John Kerry tried to make a deal with Iranian government using the help of Iran's Islamic Reformists, which is all fine, but US support for human rights in Iran was sacrificed for this objective.
Iranian-American activists welcomed the efforts to avoid a war between the two countries but the sacrifice of human rights and curtailing the support of Iran's secular democratic opposition did not help Iran's political prisoners. Needless to say our view of Islamic Republic is still the same (1).
