As my readers are aware, despite being a US Citizen, I am nonpartisan in US politics and this is why I try as much as possible to refrain from discussing events related to the forthcoming November 5th US Presidential Election. Yet I was appalled 10 days ago by the assasination attempt on former President Donald Trump, and also read the news of nomination of Donald Trump at the Republican Party National Convention of last week, and I also read the news of President Joe Biden's resignation yesterday. I have already discussed a lot over the years, about issues related to both President Trump and President Biden as far as the issues related to Iran are concerned. I also all these years brought up topics related to President Obama and Ray Kurzweil, or topics related to President Biden and Ray Kurzweil  and *if* they wanted to hear it, clearly demonstrated in my eyes, their understanding of the epochal changes of the 21st Century! In fact, to my knowledge, the only famous politician worldwide who ever even bothered to invite Ray Kurzweil to listen to his ideas about Technological Singularity was none other than President Benjamin Netanyahu which was many years ago! Also just looking at the support of Elon Musk for Donald Trump's presidental campaign says a lot about how the hightech professionals in the United States view the Current State Of The Union! Nonetheless basically I should say that this note really has nothing to do with the current US presidential politics but may help to understand the world of the 21st Century.

At the end of the 20th Century when the Soviet Union collapsed, we saw the people helped it to be replaced by Putin and although the catalyzer was Gorbachev who seriously cared for democracy but today we see that the freedom people were seeking and made sacrifices for, was never fulfilled! In those days, the only ones who really understood the depth of what was happening were many futurists and among them the late Daniel Bell was the most informed! Today maybe careful reading of Daniel Bell's book 'Coming of the Post-Industrial Society,' can help those who are regretting the sacrifices of the time of the downfall of the Soviet Union to see what needed to be understood at that time!  Likewise, today at this juncture of world changes that we are particularly witnessing in the current US Presidential Election, reading Ray Kurzweil's Singularity is Nearer can help those interested, to better understand the depth of what is happening in the 21st Century at this particular juncture of history. Times have changed and the old ways do not work anymore although value of the individual freedom is as important as it always has been, a lesson that surely as late as the time of collapse of the Soviet Union and the events of former Soviet Union, Eastern Europe at that time, and recently in Ukraine and elsewhere, has been proven, time and time again!
