Yesterday the world witnessed a vicious missile attack on Saudi Arabia' oil. Within a short time, head of IRGC Aerospace Force Amirali Hajizadeh said: Everybody should know that all American bases and their aircraft carriers in a distance of up to 2,000 kilometres around Iran are within the range of our missiles. Three months ago, Amirali Hajizadeh made a similar statement after IRGC shot down a US drone near a passenger plane in Persian Gulf . This all shows a new reality in the Middle East that militarily there is Israel, IRI and Arab states, but the Arab states rely on the U.S. for defense and are not a regional military force to reckon with. Israel and IRI both have significant missile and nuclear capabilities. US, Russia, and China have proven their missile and nuclear capabilities and do not need to show it for the world to know. For whatever reason, this has become a new reality of the Middle East. The United States can deal with this new Middle East reality in three ways: Peaceful negotiation, War, or Appeasement. The first approach has been emphasized by President Trump. The second approach has been emphasized by a number of US Republicans, but not all. The third approach has been emphasized by most US Democrats, but not all. Yesterday, e.g. the tone of US Democratic Congressman Adam Bennett Schiff, chairman of the United States House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, discussing attacks on Saudi oil in a TV interview, was far from appeasing IRI.
