There is an expression in Persian that says
<hopefully it is a cat>. It means that you are sitting in your home and you hear
the noise of an intruder but you still try to ignore and think of it as if there
is a cat in your backyard.
Independent leftists after the fall of Soviet Union have changed a lot and have
incorporated democracy in their thoughts, although the
Marxists
still have a long way to go to understand the reason for 100 years of supporting
dictatorship and they can start by
understanding fundamentals of regeneration of tyranny. But one cannot say the same about fascism which even after its
defeat in WWII did not change much, nonetheless, fortunately revival of fascism
in the form of
white supremacist groups in recent years has been very limited in the US and rest of the world. One
cannot say the same thing about
IslamicKKK
which wants to move the world back to 1400 years ago starting from the Middle
East.
The Islamic reformists in all these countries are not like the Communist
reformers and mainly have been playing Good Cop/Bad Cop along with their
fundamentalist counterparts. These facts are not even understood among the
Iranian opposition and only a few groups like
IPC and
Derafsh Kaviyani
not to be misunderstood with another group having the same name, really
understand the problem we Iranians have been dealing with in the last 40 years.
I have some disagreements with IPC for example about
US Representative Ilhan Omar. Ilhan Omar supports the rights of
homosexuals which is not an
easy matter to pronounce in Islamic communities. Nonetheless, regardless of some
individual cases, I basically agree
with
IPC about
the danger of Islamickkk and
Islamism as a whole.
