استاندارد دوگانه چپی ها برای روسیه و چین

In the old days, leftists believed in a Socialist Camp which in their opinion had to survive in a world dominated by Imperialists, thus they justified any foreign policy by the Communist states as a survival tactic. For example, Iranian communists justified the relationship of Stalin's Russia and Mao's China with Iran of the Shah, when in the middle of suppression of human rights in Iran, these Communist states would express admiration for the Shah's regime during Princess Ashraf Pahlavi's trips to those countries. At the same time the leftists would criticize Western democracies for not condemning the human rights violations in Iran. After the collapse of the Eastern Bloc and Soviet Union, when atrocities of these Communist states against their own people was unmasked, including the horrors of cultural revolution in China, the leftists in Iran and in the West have become fully aware of the reality and distance themselves from it, but they still have a double standard for Russia and China and do not demand from them to condemn the human rights violations in Iran and elsewhere.

Hoping for a democratic and secular
