دموکراسی های غربی هنوز خطر اسلامگرایی را درک نمی کنند

Every time a new atrocity is committed by an Islamist group, at best the Western analysts resemble Islamism to Communism. But in reality, Western democracies clearly opposed Communism as a whole from day one of formation of Soviet Union in 1917. A better example should be Fascism that was treated as a partial ally by Western Democracies even to the last days of Chamberlain government in the UK, and only when it became clear that Hitler and Stalin had signed a non-aggression pact, finally Western democracies understood that the goal of Fascism in Germany, Italy, Japan and elsewhere was the destruction of Western democracy as a whole. Today, this is the reality Western democracies need to come to grips with regarding the rise of Islamism in the last half century in Middle East and beyond.  The West needs to stop thinking of friendly Islamist fascists vs unfriendly ones, a perspective which helped the creation and strengthening of the "Frankenstein's Islamist Monster" (1). A thinking that is still preventing the Western democracies from supporting a "Global Secular Initiative" (2).

Hoping for a democratic and secular
futurist republic in Iran,
