What I am writing here is not any theorectical treatise and is just some observations I have had over the years and I am not a sociologist to even make any theoretical analysis of these observations! Years ago, at the time of Shah's regime, a famour Iranian revolutionary teacher-writer by the name of Samad Behrangi called 'ordinary people' who cared for having a house, car and comfortable life as **chokh bakhtiar** meaning something like careless in contrast to **idealistic people**. Many of his followers became founders of a guerilla movement in that era in Iran which was not necessarily the goal of Samad Behrangi's teachings. What is interesting today after the fall of Shah's regime and experiencing the 1979 Revolution and the Islamic Regime, the youth and many who call for change in Iran, are asking simply for an **ordinary life** which Samad Behrangi was using the derogatory terminology of **chokh bakhtiar** for them meaning careless:)

I lived and worked in Silicon Valley of California during 1980's and 1990's till 2005. What I observed was that highly intelligent computer experts spent their leasure time watching shows like Jeopardy on TV and were really similar to what today we hear as the ideal of many in Iran simply to have an **ordinary life**! Actually when I first went to Silicon Valley and even created Nova Bookstore in Sunnyvale for 4 years, thought those people would be like what Samad Behrangi was hoping for but in reality those professionals just wanted to have an **ordinary life** which Samad Behrangi was using the derogatory term of **chokh bakhtiar** to refer to!

What I am trying to say is that the more we are moving into the 21st Century, it seems like what we had seen in modern era as highly intellectual individuals in various walks of life, today it is the **AI** itself and the ones who are really smart people, but similar to everyone else, like to be **ordinary** and have an **ordinary life**!

Hoping for a democratic and secular futurist republic in Iran,
