IDF (Jebhe Demkratik) in the U.S.
The announcement of formation of the Iran Democratic Front (Jebhe Demokratik) organization in the U.S., is an important event in the process of unification of Iranian opposition in Iran and abroad:
IDF is an independent secular republican group in Iran:
IDF has had a major role in organizing the last year's uprisings of students, teachers, and workers in Iran; and the founders of IDF are from the 18-Tir (July 9th) Students Movement of 1999:
In February 2003, IDF leader, Mohandes Heshmat Tabarzadi, although in prison in Iran at the time, was one of a few major Iranian politicians, who courageously boycotted the City Council elections, and his stand was in tune with what the Iranian people did in that election, when they overwhelmingly refused to participate:
Three weeks ago, Mohandes Tabarzadi made a call for Formation of a Coalition Council of the Iranian opposition, and asked all the personalities, parties, groups and media that want, to invite people on July 9, 2003 at 7 p.m., to take the first step in nationwide peaceful demonstrations in Iran, to impose referendum to the IRI:
In light of the above call, the start of activities of IDF in the U.S., can have an important impact on the process of unification of the Iranian movement for a secular republic in Iran. My best wishes for IDF's untiring endeavors.
Hoping for a Futurist, Federal, Democratic, and Secular Republic in Iran
